We will remind, since February 24, 2022, the migration service of Lebanon has suspended the issuance of work visas for Ukrainian women. The main reason was the lack of working airports in Ukraine from which to fly to Lebanon and return. The second reason was the threat of constant conflicts between Ukrainian and Russian girls already on the territory of Lebanon in nightclubs.

And now, after long and slow deliberations, as well as under the pressure of clubs because of the large number of requests from Ukrainian women, the migration service, in consultation with the Ukrainian Embassy in Beirut, found a compromise solution. Which, of course, doesn’t make club owners pleased. Ukrainian women will again be able to work in nightclubs in Lebanon under two conditions.

The first condition: Ukrainian girls must not work together with Russian girls in the same club.

The second condition: Ukrainian girls must not live in the same hotel with Russian girls who came to Lebanon to work in nightclubs.

This has become a huge problem for clubs in Lebanon, as there has always been about an even split between Ukrainian and Russian women working in nightclubs in Lebanon. And it’s hard for club owners to choose who they prefer. Especially since February 24, 2022, mostly Russian, Belarusian, Kazakh, Moldovan, and so on have been coming to Lebanon to work. Currently, every club in Lebanon employs at least half of the girls from Russia.

So what’s the great news I mentioned at the beginning, if only the complications so far?

The good news is that several club owners, including those with whom the Astarte agency is working, are willing to open new clubs and provide accommodation in separate hotels where Russian women will not work or live. Thereby giving everyone a level playing field. These are the conditions under which the Lebanese Migration Service has agreed to open work visas to Lebanon for Ukrainian women from September 20, 2023.
